We will have a VERY distanced "get together" for this class on 5/13 from 12:30-2:30. I will have a TABLE for each student spread out in the schoolyard. (I am only doing this for the 7th/8th graders since there are only 7 of them.) If you do not feel comfortable, that's fine! Just let me know if you would like to bring the family out to the farm for a family picnic, instead! :-)
Take notes over the material in Quest guide pages 100 & 101.
For this week, I need each of you to do your VERY BEST on this next assignment.
You will each be writing a speech for an "in class" debate. We will not be working in groups for your initial writing. I would like to be able to assess each of your understanding of the topic, individually. However, I will be choosing your invention!
Check to be sure April tuition payment has been sent. I have Venmo now, as well, if you need it.
If
anyone has employment issues due to COVID-19, please let me know...
I'll work it out. ❤ I've taken on a few tutoring students in order to
cover all costs. NO STUDENT OF MINE WILL LEAVE MY CLASSES DUE TO
EMPLOYMENT ISSUES. Love you guys. ALL of my Freebird Farm classes (Farm Fusion AND FreeRangers classes of all ages) are invited to a music "concert" on Fridays at 10am. If you play a musical instrument and want to share you talent, choose 1 song and log in between 9:45 & 10:00 to get on the list! Everyone is welcome to log in and listen. It's been a really peaceful and positive experience! To join, just use the Zoom meeting code available on Google Classroom. I don't like to post it publicly. ;-)
Science
Oh my goodness I LOVE this video. It's fast, but definitely watch it!!
RESEARCH-- You must research the Fibonacci Sequence/Golden Ratio in Art, Music, or Architecture. As you research, focus in on one example that is mentioned. Copy a picture to share with the class via Sharing Screen in Tuesday's class. Be sure you can tell about how it fits the sequence!
Read chapter 26 and complete this online quizover the material. You can use your book and your notebook.
We will be working on GROUPS for our Quest Guide Assignment this week! You have to read the chapter thoroughly before you can start. Each group will be completing a section of the guide and then it will be up to your group to teach the class about your topic. You can present your material in any way you'd like!
C.K. & G.H. - p. 93 & 94
M.M. & P.R & B.J. - p. 95 & 96
G.B. & Z.S - p. 97 & 98
Grammar
Complete lessons 105, 106, and 107.
Check them as you go. This week, I would like for you to post any starred questions on Classroom AS YOU GO. So, if you complete lesson 105 and come to a tricky problem, jump on Classroom and post it under the new thread titled "⭐Grammar Questions⭐". I will address them as you post them so that we can save our in class time for more fun things. ;-)
Please be sure that you have thoroughly read the book and are familiar with all of the characters. We will have a fun activity "in class" that will definitely go better for you if you have done the reading!
I'm uploading your revisions to your shared Google Drive by midnight on Wed 4/15. Please revise and correct your essay. Resubmit the final draft via this linkby 6pm on Monday, 4/20.
Check to be sure April tuition payment has been sent. I have Venmo now, as well, if you need it.

Love you guys.
These things are not due until 4/14!!! Guess what? With all of the craziness, I forgot that next week is our spring break! Although you don't have to do ANY work at all for it, I will host a fun session for you on Tuesday from 1:00-2:30. Since you are stuck at home, I thought it would be nice to do something fun "together".
Science
Look over the Quest Guide pages 89 & 91 before you begin reading.
Read chapter 25: Absolute Zero
Check out the pages 226 & 227 on Fibonacci's numbers.
Grab a ruler. Start looking for ANYTHING around you that meets this Golden Ratio. Write down what you find, and we'll talk about it in class. It's fascinating!
Complete the Quest Guide Sheet page 90. First, add numbers to the number line. Then, use the definitions at the bottom of the page and label the areas of the number line with the correct terms.
Choose ONE from the list (or come up with your own that isn't on the list). Research this person and write an essay (5 paragraphs, please) that explains how the characteristics and actions of this person would make this person a good "Fighter". We will read this in class next week, but I also want you to copy and paste your essay here.
